Arathra is developing a documentary about expats. We want to explore why it is that some people feel the urge to live away from their home country; why some people have the urge to travel and explore new places; why some people are attracted by the unknown. And of course we'll be looking at why some people are the opposite!
In the documentary we'll be talking to plenty of expats, sociologists, travellers as well as those who've spent their entire lives living within a few miles of their birthplace.
The questions we hope to ask - and answer - include:
To help in the documentary we are interested in speaking to expats who have spent a relevant part of their life living abroad. We would love to hear from people who have an interesting story to tell about why they've gone out to live abroad.
If that's you, then please do send us an email telling us about yourself. We'll use your stories to help build up a picture of what makes an expat tick and when there's an espeically interesting take on the subject, if it's possible we'd like to arrange a filmed interview to talk about your story.
Please do feel free to get in touch with me, Sean Sutton, by email on sean@arathra.com.
Please note that all correspondence is in strictest confidence; if we use identifiable information or an interview we will seek your written permission first. Unfortunately we are unable to make any payment for participation in this documentary.
